Sic Reedbeds - nature reserve and part of the Natura 2000 sites ROSPA0104 and ROSCI0099. South of the village Sic, on the road DJ 109D towards Coasta, there is a Tourist Information Point and across the street there is a wooden suspended parth that runs through reeds for about 1 km, west to east. On this route there are two gazebos with benches where visitors can sit and rest, and also an ornithological observatory that allows viewing a large part of the reedbed and observation of bird species that nest and feed in the area. You can return using the same path or along the dirt road, then on County Road 109D which go back to the starting point. This circuit has a length of about 1.6 km. Species and habitats of community importance which can be seen here: Birds: Aquila pomarina, Botaurus stellaris, Circus aeruginosus, Lanius minor, Lanius collurio, Porzana parva, Porzana porzana, Ciconia ciconia, Egretta alba, Egretta garzetta, Circus cyaneus, Anthus campestris, Ixobrychus minutus; Amphibians: Bombina variegata, Bombina bombina and hybrids, Hyla arborea, Triturus vulgaris, Triturus cristaus; Reptiles: Natrix natrix; Beetles: Lucanus cervus. Habitats: 1530* Pannonic salt steppes and salt marshes and 6430 Hydrophilous tall herb fringe communities of plains and of the montane to alpine levels.

Pike Lake - nature reserve and part of the Natura 2000 sites ROSPA0104 and ROSCI0099. The 109D county road Gherla - Sic passes along the south-eastern side of the lake and reeds surrounding it, for about 1.5 km. Two wooden decks provide access to the lake. Dirt roads and paths go around the lake, on a route of about 5 km. Species of birds: Lanius minor, Chlidonias hybridus, Dendrocopos medius, Dendrocopos syriacus, Dryocopus martius, Picus canus, Larus minutus, Sterna hirundo, Alcedo atthis, Circus aeruginosus, Circus pygargus, Circus cyaneus, Egretta alba, Egretta garzetta, Ixobrychus minutus, Botaurus stellaris, Lanius collurio, Sylvia nisoria, Anthus campestris, Crex crex, Lanius minor, Lanius collurio, Aquila pomarina, Aythya nyroca, Gavia stellata, Gavia arctica, Anthus campestris, Caprimulgus europaeus, Lululla arborea, Chlidonias niger, Luscinia svecica, Porzana porzana, Porzana parva, Ciconia ciconia. Amphibians Bombina bombina and hybrids. Habitats: 3150 Natural eutrophic lakes with Magnopotamion or Hydrocharition-type vegetation, R5309 Danubian communities with Phragmites australis and Schoenoplecturus lacustris dominated by reeds and rushes; 6210 Semi-natural dry grasslands and scrubland facies on calcareous substrates (Festuco-Brometalia); 6240* Sub-Pannonic steppic grasslands; R3122 Ponto-Pannonian hedges with Prunus spinosa and Crataegus monogyna; 91Y0 Dacian oak and hornbeam forests.

Sântejude - Borzas ponds in the Sic valley - part of Natura 2000 sites ROSPA0104 and ROSCI0099. These ponds were built in the Sic valley, about 4 km southwest of Sântioana, basically the continuation of Sic Reedbeds. it can be reached by car from Sântioana towards Sântejude (DJ109C) or walk (bike) from Sic, on the dirt roads along the edge of the reeds, a route of about 6 km. On these ponds and ecosystems surrounding them, numerous protected bird species can be observed: Ixobrychus minutus, Circaetus gallicus, Tringa Glareola, Chlidonias hybridus, Chlidonias niger, Egretta alba, Larus minutus, Sterna hirundo, Dendrocopos medius, Dryocopus martius, Picus canus, Egretta garzetta, Egretta alba, Anthus campestris, Caprimulgus europaeus, Botaurus stellaris, Circus aeruginosus, Circus cyaneus, Porzana parva, Lanius minor, Lanius collurio, Lululla arborea, Sylvia nisoria, Luscinia svecca, Aythia nyroca, Aquilla pomarina, Strix uralensis; amphibians Bombina variegata hybrids; and habitats 3150 Natural eutrophic lakes with Magnopotamion or Hydrocharition-type vegetation; R5309 Danubian communities with Phragmites australis and Schoenoplecturus lacustris dominated by reeds and rushes; 6210 Semi-natural dry grasslands and scrubland facies on calcareous substrates (Festuco-Brometalia); R3122 Ponto-Pannonian hedges with blackthorn Prunus spinosa and hawthorn Crataegus monogyna;

Fizeş Valley - part of the Natura 2000 site ROSPA0104 Fizeş Basin. On lakes formed along the Fizeş valley numerous protected bird species can be seen: Egretta garzetta, Egretta alba, Nycticorax nycticorax, Gavia arctica, Gavia stellata, Chlidonias niger, Chlidonias hybridus, Botaurus stellaris, Ciconia ciconia, Porzana parva, Porzana porzana, Ixobrychus minutus, Sterna hirundo, Aythya nyroca, Tringa glareola, Alcedo atthis, Lanius collurio, Lanius minor, Crex crex, Lululla arborea, Aquila pomarina, Sylvia nisoria, Circaetus gallicus, Anthus campestris, Caprimulgus europaeus, Dryocopus martius, Picus canus, Dendrocopos medius. On the left side of the Suciuasului valley there is the Ciuaşului forest that harbours the largest mixed colony of Black-crowned night heron (Nycticorax nyctricorax) and Gray herons (Ardea cinerea) in Transylvania. 

Bonţida - Jucu - Sic meadows - part of the Natura 2000 site ROSCI0099 are accessible from DJ 109D Jucu de Sus - Coasta - Sic county road that crosses part of the site. Protected plant species: Crambe tataria, Echium russicum. Habitats:  s6210 Semi-natural dry grasslands and scrubland facies on calcareous substrates (Festuco-Brometalia); priority habitat 62C0* Ponto-Sarmatian steppes;  R3122 Ponto-Pannonian hedges with blackthorn Prunus spinosa and hawthorn Crataegus monogyna; 6510   Lowland hay meadows (Alopecurus pratensis, Sanguisorba officinalis) - extensively exploited these grasslands are rich in flowering plants turn supporting a large diversity of butterflies and other invertebrates.
